Chesapeake Little League (CLL), located in the beautiful city of Chesapeake, Virginia, was founded in 1994. Chesapeake Little League is charted under Little League International, located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. We are a part of Virginia District 6, which includes the areas of Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk.

T-ball focuses on instruction, learning, and fun! Most players in this division are 4-6 years old, but 6 year olds with at least one spring season of experience may request to play up in the Farm division. All 4 year old players are required to have a Parent Partner on the field with them, which is an approved volunteer that stays on the field and in the dugout with them throughout the game. Players interested in playing outside of their normal age division must register within their current age division and then send a written request to "play up" to CLL's Baseball Player Agent, Joe Higson, at bbplayeragent.cll@gmail.com.
Farm Baseball is an extension of T-ball and continues the focus of instruction, learning, and fun! The Farm division utilizes a Mechanical Pitching Machine for games. There are no strikeouts and no score is kept. Most players in this division are 7-8 years old, but 6 year olds with at least one spring season of experience may request to play in this division. Also, 8 year olds with at least one spring season of experience may request to try out for the Minor division. Players interested in playing outside of their normal age division must register within their current age division and then send a written request to "play up" to CLL's Baseball Player Agent, Joe Higson, at bbplayeragent.cll@gmail.com.
Minor Baseball continues the learning and instruction, focusing more on player positions and pitching, while adding the element of competition. Score is kept. This division is ALL player pitch. Most players in this division are 9-10 years old. Potential Minor division players must attend the player evaluation in the spring to be drafted to a Minors or Majors team. This division may interleague with other District 6 Little Leagues located in Portsmouth and Suffolk. This division has a postseason All-Star Tournament. Junior Baseball focuses on the transition from a youth size field (60' base paths/46’ mound) to a full size field (90' base paths/60’ mound), while incorporating more advanced skills in base running, pitching, catching, hitting, and strategy. Players in this division must be between 13-14 years old. Potential Junior division players must attend the player evaluation in the spring to be drafted to a Juniors team. Senior Baseball further focuses on the transition from the youth level ball to high school level of ball. Players in this division may be 13 to 17 years old. Thirteen and fourteen year olds may try out for this division with Board of Directors approval. This division plays on 90' basepaths (High School Regulation field). This division also Interleagues with all District 6 Little League Teams located in Portsmouth and Suffolk.
Major Baseball focuses on continued learning, advanced skills, and a higher level of competition. This division is the flagship of Little League and culminates with postseason competition on ESPN! Most players in this division are 11-12 years old. Potential Major division players must attend the player evaluation in the spring and score at least a 15 out of 25 possible evaluation points to be drafted to a Majors team. This division will interleague with other District 6 Little Leagues located in Portsmouth and Suffolk. This division has a post-season All-Star Tournament. Minor Softball consists of players aged 7 to 9. Divisions are Machine and Player Pitch and interleague with District 6 Little Leagues located in Portsmouth and Suffolk. These divisions also feature a post season All-Star Tournament.

Senior Softball is for female players aged 13 to 16 and focuses on the transition from youth level of play to high school level of play. Your player will experience more advanced base running, pitching, catching, fielding and strategy. This division interleagues with all District 6 Little Leagues in Western Branch, Portsmouth and Suffolk. This division also features a post season All-Star Tournament.
